Blonde Artery
Scenes from movies and TV that have helped me make sense of myself as a transgender man, an ex-Mormon, a mother, a brother, and a total moron.

Gender in sound with Chad Murphy
Today my guest is Chad Murphy, an artist, musician, and associate professor at Oregon State University. Chad and I talk about how we know each other (0:47), how Chad presents in the world in regard to gender (2:21), and the music that connected with him as a young person navigating the culture of the Mormon church. Chad talks about the Smashing Pumpkins (5:38), how he sees his dad, Dale (13:57), and Electoral College, the band he formed while attending college at Brigham Young University (16:19). Chad shares his thoughts on Billy Corgan (21:58), Cocteau Twins (24:35), and Sonic Youth (25:58), and we end the episode discussing "softness" and how it fits into each of our own sense of self (26:59).
